📌 About Indian Coast Guard
The Indian Coast Guard operates as a versatile force, executing continuous real-time missions across maritime zones. Despite its compact structure, it boasts extensive operational capabilities for both sea and air missions. Commanded by the Director General (DGCG), the force is headquartered in New Delhi, where strategic oversight is maintained. Assisting the DGCG is the Additional Director General (ADG CG), supported by seven Deputy Director Generals (holding Inspector General rank) and other senior officials managing various operational divisions. For streamlined command and control, India’s maritime territory is divided into two primary zones: the Eastern and Western Seaboard. These zones further include five operational regions—North-West, West, East, North-East, and Andaman & Nicobar (an independent region). Each region is governed by a Regional Headquarters based in Gandhinagar, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Port Blair, respectively, with an Inspector General-rank officer leading operations.

- Upper age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC
